So I decided in May to go to Gokyo and Khumbu. The route will be almost classic - flight to Lukla, further to the Gokyo Lakes (here, if I can move quickly, may be time to visit another lake located on the way to Chow Yu), then through Cho La pass to the Khumbu valley. Here in Khumbu I’m thinking of going along a new path: after climbing Kalapattar, returning not by the classical path, but through the Kongma La pass (5,535 m) to Chukung (and maybe even run into Chukung Ri).

Since everywhere on the route you can spend the night in houses, it's possible to refuse the services of a porter and take a walk with your backpack in economy mode. But, of course, if I will have a group of people who want to join me, a simpler solution would be a classic trip with porters and guides.
