Visited the Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP. An incredible building. The dam is over 250 meters high. 10 units - huge water conduits lead to them, which can be clearly seen in the photo. Each unit is equal in capacity to the Dnieper Hydroelectric Power Station ... The generator itself is also huge - a turbine with a rotor weighs about 1500 tons and rotates at a speed of almost 3 revolutions per second! It is difficult to imagine this, but it looks like the weight of each turbine with a rotor is close to the weight of 2-3 electric trains in Moscow suburbs full with people. Each letter in the word "Russia" is as high as a 25-storey building.
We visited the museum of the hydroelectric power station, and the machine hall (we even went down to the very rotors of the turbines), and even climbed the crest of the dam. Impressions - a carriage and a small cart.
