Blog >> The ice is almost broken!

The ice has not yet broken, but it has already cracked and stirred!

The immigration office in Nepal promised to issue all the necessary permits for the Great Himalayan Trail. Of course, after I have been quarantined for 7 days in Kathmandu. Domestic flights around the country have resumed, the lockdown in Kathmandu is almost cancelled.

I already have a ticket to Nepal in my pocket (for July 14th), all that remains is to comply with a few formalities for entry.

I remind you that you still can join me on any part of my route and the actual schedule is published on the project website.

For trekking in Nepal today you need:

1. confirmation of hotel room booking for the period of quarantine (vaccinated - for 7 days, without vaccination - for 10 days). The hotel is at its own expense. And not just any hotel, but only from the list approved by the Nepal Department of Health. There are many hotels on the list - for every taste and budget.

2. the bar code, which can be obtained from the website of the Nepalese Crisis Center (http://ccmc.gov.np). The site from Russia does not want to open. To get a bar code you will have to use a VPN

3. PCR test. The swab must be taken no later than 72 hours before departure.

4. Medical insurance for the duration of your stay.

Since I already have a visa, I will not need anything else to enter the country. You can also get a visa upon arrival, but I decided not to risk it.

The weather in Nepal is getting better (compared to last week), the situation with the coronavirus is much more favorable than in Russia. Today, the main risk for the project, I already see the possible complications associated with the increase in the incidence in Russia, and not in Nepal.

Still the easiest options to join me are in Mustang, around Manaslu and near Everest. If you have a desire to trek in the Himalayas with me, write me directly (or in the comments) your questions, I am in touch here (until the 14th) and also in Nepal.
