Blog >> Sun Power
I've bought a solar battery in an online store. Made by SunPower.
It has arrived just in ordinary cardboard box, without instructions, without guarantees and all that. And it looks like a dummy made of polyvinyl chloride with a picture of a solar battery printed on it in black ink.
I called the store. They explained to me very confidently that modern batteries no longer look like silicon wafers with a metal mesh and that I just need to put it in the sun and try to charge something.
Today it is raining with snow, but I tried to put the thing out of the window with the empty powerbank connected. And, interestingly, some processes have begun. Tomorrow I will continue the experiment - I would like to learn how to provide myself with electricity in the mountains for at least two weeks.
According to the descriptions - providing yourself with electricity will cost me a noticeable additional weight. It seems like you need to plan that providing energy can weigh about 800 grams, or maybe even a kilogram.
