Treks >> Gokyo - Khumbu - Everest Base Camp (Nepal, October 2020). Join us!

I invite you to take part in a trek by one of the most beautiful routes in the Himalayas: a trek to the base camp of Everest through Gokyo lakes.

This route is interesting for a number of reasons. On the wat, we will go through several climatic zones, and sometimes several zones will change during one day: from the Himalayan forests we will go to the Alpine meadows, then the Arctic zone and glaciers will replace it. We will see blooming rhododendrons, which are very numerous in the Khumbu and Gokyo areas.

We will see several famous Himalayan attractions: this is a fantastic chain of Gokyo lakes, four eight-thousanders (Chow-Yu, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu), Everest Base Camp, the city of Sherpas Namche Bazar, ancient Buddhist monasteries in Tengboche and Pangboche and much more.

According to the plan, we will ascent three (or four) times to a altitude of more than 5000 meters. This is hiking to the top of Gokyo Ri (5,350m), which offers fantastic views of the lakes Gokyo, Chow-Yu, Everest, Lkhodze and Makalu. Then we will go through Cho La pass (5400m). After the pass, we will climb the highest point of our route - Mount Kalapattar (5,626m), which offers an excellent view of Everest. And if there is time and energy left, we can also take a walk to Mount Chukung Ri (5,450 m), from which you can enjoy the view of the southern wall of Lhotse.

The way on the route is well arranged, everywhere on the trek we can spend the night in guest houses.

Special equipment for passing the trek is not required, you only need good physical form and a desire to see with your own eyes the true beauty of the Himalayas.
